There are many pesticides formulated for small infestations that are able to kill the larvae and prevent further growth. Depending on the size of the infestation, frequent spraying of the area might be necessary. Most of the pesticides that are sold over the counter are effective in small areas, and for a short-term solution.  If this does not work, the issue should be discussed with a professional as soon as possible.
